Last Updated: January 2025

Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website or using our counseling services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

Professional Relationship

The therapeutic relationship is a professional one. By engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Attend scheduled appointments or provide appropriate notice of cancellation
  • Pay for services as agreed
  • Communicate openly and honestly during sessions
  • Respect professional boundaries
  • Follow treatment recommendations to the best of your ability

Appointments & Scheduling

Scheduling

Appointments can be scheduled through our client portal, by phone, or by email. We will confirm all appointments in advance.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the full session rate, which may not be covered by insurance.

Lateness

If you arrive late for a session, we will see you for the remaining time available, but you will be charged for the full session. Please make every effort to arrive on time.

Fees & Payment

Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. We accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and most major insurance plans.

Insurance

If you are using insurance, you are responsible for understanding your coverage and any copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket expenses. We will bill your insurance as a courtesy, but you are ultimately responsible for all charges.

Outstanding Balances

Accounts with outstanding balances for more than 30 days may be subject to collection procedures. Continued services may be suspended until accounts are brought current.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us. All information disclosed in therapy sessions is confidential and protected by law, except in the following circumstances:

  • When you provide written authorization to release information
  • When there is a reasonable suspicion of child, elder, or dependent adult abuse
  • When you present a serious danger to yourself or others
  • When required by a court order or other legal process
  • For payment and healthcare operations purposes

Please see our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for more detailed information.

Emergencies

This practice does not provide 24-hour emergency services.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency:

  • Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
  • Call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
  • Text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line

For non-emergency concerns between sessions, you may leave a message and we will return your call within 1-2 business days.

Telehealth Services

We offer telehealth services via secure video conferencing. By participating in telehealth sessions, you agree to:

  • Be in a private, quiet location during sessions
  • Use a secure internet connection
  • Be physically located in the state where your therapist is licensed
  • Acknowledge that technical issues may occasionally occur

Termination of Services

Either party may terminate the therapeutic relationship at any time. We ask that you provide notice so we can discuss termination and provide appropriate referrals if needed. Services may be terminated by the therapist if:

  • You do not comply with treatment recommendations
  • You engage in threatening or abusive behavior
  • You fail to pay for services
  • The therapist determines they cannot provide appropriate care

Records & Documentation

Clinical records are maintained according to legal and ethical requirements. You have the right to access your records with reasonable notice. Records are typically retained for 7 years after the last date of service.

Minors

If you are a parent or legal guardian bringing a minor for services, you acknowledge that:

  • You have the legal right to consent to treatment
  • Both parents/guardians should be involved unless otherwise specified by court order
  • Some degree of confidentiality with your child is important for effective therapy
  • You will be informed of any safety concerns

Do not use this website for emergency communications. The contact form and email are not monitored 24/7.
